What is a digital memorial and how to create one

A digital memorial is a page dedicated to one person: their photograph, their story, and a place where the family leaves messages and lights candles. It works like the condolence book from the funeral, except it does not close after three days and it reaches those who live far away.
What it contains
The essentials fit into a few fields; everything else can be added later, without hurry.
- Name, dates and a photograph
- An epitaph or a sentence that describes them
- Their life story: where they were from, what they did, what they loved
- Family photos and important moments of their life
- Candles, flowers and messages left by visitors
Who can see it
You decide. A memorial can be public, reachable only through a link, or fully private. With the link option the page stays out of search engines and only the family you send it to can open it.
How to create one
The form has three steps and takes a few minutes: the name and dates first, then the story and photos, and finally the look of the page. Nothing needs to be prepared in advance. Whatever is missing can be added when you have the strength for it.
What it costs
Creating and keeping a memorial is free. We do not ask for a card and there is no version that expires after thirty days.
No card, no deadlines.
